Punctual Drivers, Helpful Office Staff
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent service provided to me and my family (including 3 grandchildren under five years of age) during my recent trip to Disneyland Paris. Your drivers were smart and punctual and could not have been more helpful. Your office staff were also very helpful and accommodating during telephone conversations.

The idea of travelling on public transport with 3 children and accompanying baggage was quickly discounted, and I am glad to say that the option of a private minibus transfer from Beauvais was a welcome alternative.

Delayed Flights

I Second Airport Connection
We needed to get from DeGaulle to Rue Cler with a five-month-old and an extra bag. We reserved with Airport Connection and the driver was waiting for us at baggage claim as promised. There was a slight delay waiting for the pickup of a couple of other passengers but they were dropped on St. Germain des Près and we were dropped next on Rue Cler in front of our hotel. Much easier with a baby than an Air France bus, which would have dropped us at Esplanade des Invalides, two Metro stops away, or the RER-Metro connection itself. It's worth the reasonable fare.

Excellent Driver
We would like to praise your driver Mohamed, who drove us on June 9, 2005 from Hotel Lutèce, 65, rue Saint Louis en l'Ile at 6:30 a.m. to Charles de Gaulle. He is an excellent driver, driving smoothly without jerking, and has superb manners. He has provided us with a very pleasant ride. We hope we can get him to drive us again next time.

Paris Airport Shuttle
There is no convenient way to get to the Rue Cler on public transport from Charles de Gaulle Airport (except via a rather long, unpleasant train ride with at least one transfer). Not easy to do on jet lag, either. But now I have found a simple, easy and relatively inexpensive way to get there. I use Airport Connection, a door to door shuttle service that meets you and takes you directly to your hotel. Fee: 35€ for two; 25 for one. This service also runs from Orly. They will also take you back to the airport, and I have found them always to be on time and in plenty of time for my flight. A useful service if you are not up to hopping on and off trains.

Getting To the Train On Time

Your driver is to be highly commended for his driving skill, intelligence and courtesy.

Due to U.S. Air, we were very late in arriving at CDG, leaving us with almost a certainty of missing our connection. Using all of his driving talent and imagination he was able to get us to Gare Saint-Lazare, so that we were in our seats with five minutes to spare! The Private Shuttle service ended up being worth the expense.

Stress-Free Transportation from Charles de Gaulle
I am a solo traveler and hate the thought of having to carry my heavy suitcases or duffel bags through the métro or the bus, especially after I have spent 8-1/2 hours in airports and cramped airline seats!

So before I left on my most recent trip to Paris, I booked a reservation for a shuttle bus to get me from de Gaulle airport to my hotel in Paris' 5th arrondisement. This was well worth the 25 Euros! The shuttle was comfortable, the driver was friendly, and they drop you off right in front of your hotel. No worries.

My flight was 3 hours late in arriving at de Gaulle, but the company had been tracking my flight and knew I would be late. The van was waiting for me when I got to Paris! I had to call them as soon as I landed, right before picking up my baggage, so they knew I was indeed at the airport. Highly recommended for a stress-free journey. Now if only the de Gaulle airport were a nicer place to navigate!

Avoid A Taxi At Any Cost (yes, a deliberate pun)!
If you don't feel confident using the métro/rail system to get to or from Charles de Gaulle, then try to get a shuttle — but avoid using a taxi. My hotel couldn't organise a shuttle for me at the time I was leaving on a Friday night (mind you, I saw another company's shuttle drive past while I was waiting for my taxi!) so I took a taxi and it cost me over 40 Euros; by the time I added a tip it worked out pretty close to 90 Australian dollars. So when I say avoid it at all costs, I mean that literally and metaphorically.

Juggling Luggage On Public Transport
The weather in Paris was very mild for the time of the year. But the public transport is absolutely not geared up for people with luggage travelling to or from the airport, and I highly recommend Michel's excellent Airport Connection service.

Heading to Paris?
Four of us recently spent two weeks in Paris and I would like to let other readers know of an excellent airport shuttle service which we used. They are called Airport Connection, operating 7 days a week between Paris and Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. They use English-speaking drivers and offer an economical, efficient and reliable transport in or out of Paris. They will pick you up at your hotel, home or airport terminal and take you to your destination at a fixed price, luggage included.

Reservations can be made in advance online, requiring your airline and flight number together with credit card details to secure your reservation. You will be sent confirmation by e-mail. We were given directions on what to do upon arrival, which we found easy to follow, the driver was waiting for us when we arrived (very early in the morning) and we were driven to our rental apartment in about half an hour. We highly recommend this service.

Great Experience
We visited Paris in early September and I used Airport Connection. It was a great experience. I called for a pick-up when we arrived in baggage claim, and by the time we got our luggage the van was waiting outside. He delivered us to our hotel within the hour. A Timely Pick-up

Convenience Compared to Trains
When we arrived at Charles de Gaulle Terminal 2C on Thursday morning, we knew the drill. Tom waited for luggage while I called the Airport Connection shuttle service — which we had reserved in advance — to say that we had arrived, albeit 30 minutes late. No problem, they said, and when both bags finally reached us on the conveyor belt, we made our way to Gate 8, where the shuttle waited for us.

We take the shuttle instead of the train because we are jet-lagged, and the train is a bit too complicated to catch: It involves taking a bus first — depending on which terminal you arrive in — and then buying a ticket, finding the train, squeezing into it with your baggage, and then switching to the correct Métro (maybe even having to change Métros), and then struggling from the Métro station to the apartment with the luggage. Theoretically, the train is faster, but look at all the hassles on either end. It isn't worth it when you are jet-lagged.

Caring Driver
The driver for the Airport Connection shuttle was darling. He was young, friendly, and — contrary to the company's advertising — he did not speak English. But his will to communicate made up for it. One of our fellow shuttle passengers, Katie P. from Morgantown, WV, had a bad case of motion sickness. So, she shared the front seat with me and the driver. It was touching to see how concerned the driver was for her.

Paris Airport Service
Six-dollar Cokes, too many tourists, and constant transport strikes — summer in Paris is off to its traditional festive start. With unannounced (and usually unexplained) metro strikes affecting the RER rail link from Charles de Gaulle airport to central Paris on a regular basis, you can't always count on public transportation to get you into town on time. One alternative is Airport Connection, a private minivan service that's uncharacteristically efficient. A ride to or from the airport costs $31, or $48 for two. Reserve at least 48 hours in advance by visiting www.pariscityshuttle.com.

Very Reliable
We used Airport Connection shuttle from CDG to rue du Berri in Paris. 39 euros one-way for two people. We did have to call from baggage claim when we arrived but we had a toll-free number, no need for a phone card. Very reliable. Would use them again. Made the reservation on the internet and had an e-mail confirmation.
