Musée d'Art et Archéologie (Senlis)

France logo

Built atop an ancient Gallo-Roman residence, the Musée d'Art et Archéologie (Museum of Art and Archeology) displays some excellent finds, ranging from Gallo-Roman votive objects, unearthed in the neighboring Halatte Forest, to the building's own excavated foundations (found in the basement). Upstairs, the museum presents paintings by -- among others -- Thomas Couture, Manet's teacher, who lived in Senlis.
